Discussion with Veronika Homolová Tóthová On Friday, 22 September 2023, two lectures by Veronika Homolová Tóthová, author of the book Mengele's Girl, were held on the Memorial Day of the Victims of the Holocaust and Racial Violence in the Slovak Republic (9 September). The first discussion was prepared in the CASTANEA confectionery for the pupils of the ninth grade of the primary school in Modrý Kameň in accordance with the curriculum at 11:00 am. The second public talk was held at 5:00 p.m. Viola Stern Fischer survived Mengele's experiments, four concentration camps and finally escaped the Nazis. The book Mengele's Girl records her fate and the fates of other people who should not fall into oblivion. The author of the book made a 15-part documentary, The Unsilenced, in which one entire section is devoted to Viola Stern Fisher. The lecture also included a screening of the documentary. The author of the book about the fate of Viola Fisher convincingly and at the same time non-violently presented the story of Viola. The power of a young Jewish girl's life story captivated everyone who attended the lecture. | ||
